What should you do when you meet with a road accident?

Road Accident Own Damage Claim (Comprehensive)

  1. Be calm, polite, and courteous. DO NOT admit liability or offer any settlement or payment.

  2. Call your insurer for towing assistance if your vehicle is badly damaged. DO NOT accept any unauthorized towing assistance.

  3. Make a police report of the road accident. You are required by law to lodge a police report as soon as practicable, and in any case within 24 hours of a road accident.

  4. Send your vehicle to an authorized panel repairer. Call your insurer for assistance if required.

  5. Prepare the following documents for the workshop, and the workshop will guide you through the rest of the steps:

    • Police report (original copy)

    • Updated vehicle registration card (copy)

    • Insured and driver's identity card (copy)

    • Insured and driver's driving license (copy)

    • Insurance policy/certificate (copy)

    • Vehicle business registration (copy) - applicable for company registration vehicle.
